Hi there, presumably, given my late reply, you've answered your own question by now, (hopefully Smile

But in order to close off this discussion:

TIS2000 is a Windows software package, it requires a PC, running WinXP/32 (or earlier). (No support for XP/64 or later 64bit os)
It does not require a Tech2 to install.

TIS2000 can communicate with the Tech2, via PCs COM port, (and RS232 cable to Tech2), and provides tools to erase and program the Tech2s linear flash card.
TIS2000 is database dependant, and depending on what version/flavor/packages you have installed, will provide the means to compile update binary images, for writing to the Tech2 flash card.
TIS2000 is not required by Tech2, (Tech2 is stand-alone).
TIS2000 is the official means to upload (re)program) the Tech2, and also to download data captured by the tech2.

Side note: GM demonstrated a poor understanding of the upload/download concepts, and generally refer to them both as "downloads".
Possibly they thought that dumbing-it-down made sense, but in reality it serves to create confusion.

Side note: Tech2 cards, (as you mention k-line).

All new Isuzu models after 2006, integrated a CAN bus, and Tech2 card versions (3 digit), signify CAN based. e.g. 122.050, 160.000 etc. (You also need a Candi adapter between the Tech2 and vehicle)
Prior to 2006, CAN bus was not used, (Candi adapter should not be used), this is the so called "K-line", and these card versions are only (2 digit), e.g. 11.640, and this covers vehicles from 1996~2013.

2006 is worthy of note, as prior to this, there (should be), no CAN based Isuzu vehicles out there.
If your vehicle is after 2006 and prior to 2013, this is the crossover period and it could be either. (TF/UC series is a good example, and you will find them listed on both k-line and CAN card versions).

I could be wrong, but as far as I know, CAN bus was not retrofitted into production vehicles/models that existed prior to 2006, so all the legacy models, Trooper variants, Vehicross, Mu etc should be k-line, (V11.nnn), and NOT (V160.nnn)
