Hi, looking for some help / advice please

I have a 2006 Rodeo that has started to use a lot of fuel. I used to be able to get about 30 mpg, now I'm luck if I'm getting 12!

I cannot smell or see any type of fuel leak, starts first time every time, no weird noises, no engine management lights, no seized brakes,  possibly a bit more sluggish than it used to be ( not sure if that's my imagination though!)
Really don't know where to start

Any help much appreciated

I am Still looking for help!

Checked and cleaned erg valve.
Checked for play in turbo.
Checked for air leak on intake.
No fuel in the oil.
New air and fuel filter fitted.
Turbo pressure solenoid valve was making humming noise and not holding pressure but I took it apart and cleaned it and it now appears to be working as it should.

Still going through way to much fuel tho....

Hi Eithan

No, not really, pickup has got 64,000 miles on it, barely run in..

It is very sluggish and unsure if turbo is working correctly ( not sure how to test the turbo fully).
No play in the bearings of the turbo, no strange noises, no black or white smoke and turbine spins freely.

Hope I can get to the bottom of this soon Crying or Very sad

have you drilled out the filter in the banjo bolt on the fuel in to the pump?

Hi

No I have not drilled the filter out of the banjo.  Would that cause excessive fuel consumption or just the sluggish drive ?

Update - I have just removed the banjo and there was nothing wrong with the mesh filter ( looked like new) blew it out with my airline and refitted.
However the turbo pressure solenoid valve has started making humming and funny noises again and I'm just wondering if that could be the cause of the excessive fuel consumption???

Does anyone know if the wastegate actuator works off a vacuum or by pressure , I put a vacuum on to it and it held a vacuum but the wastegate did not open

Thanks
