|
|
Hi I have a 2003 3.0TD manual that wont start and having done the usual checks (white wire, 2lt oil, fuel delivery, RPCV check) I have resorted to buying a Tec2 to try and identify what is playing up. The Tec 2 and Isuzu K line card has been initialised and self tests ok and when connected to the vehicle with ignitin on it appears to take readings ok, though there are no stored codes (expected as the battery had been removed for charging).
My question to anybody that is familiar with Tec2 operation is how do I view live data when turning the engine over on the starter motor? When I try this, as soon as I turn the engine over I loose power to the Tec2 and it goes back into the start up sequence. I have tried powering the Tec2 via the DTC and alsoconnecting via the cigarette lighter socket as well as the DTC.
I would be grateful if someone could tell me if I am doing this incorrecly (and what I should be doing) or whether I have a seperate power supply problem which I need to fix as well.
many thanks. |

you need to use a separate battery to power it don't use anything on the vehicle, it's the downside to the clone tech2 ours does the same |

Cheers Eithan. I will get a spare battery this week and give it another go using that to power the Tec2.
Many thanks. |

The 'clone' Tech2 from obd2.co.uk comes with a battery connector (red and black clamps) and has two built in fuses to protect things. _________________ 02 3.0 Trooper

My clone kept on rebooting whenever I tried to read cranking data - even with another 12V battery as a power source.
Changed the inadequate DC/DC converter within and it solved the problem totally. _________________ 02 3.0 Trooper
