|
|
So I was driving home after some LIGHT off roading, really light, just some dirt roads and suck, when my front left wheen started to make a... screeching/rubbing sound. It went away at higher speed and came back loud at low speed. It is not a permanent sound, it interrupts and starts again. Sounds like... the sound the windshield wipers make when the windshield is dry, but the sound is lowder. Maybe like the brakes sound when the pads are gone and it's metal on metal.
O drove for about 40 miles listening to that horrid sound and when I entered the city... it just wemt away. Drove a few more miles aaand there it was again.
It's loud enough that I can actually feel the vibrations in the car's floor, my foot was getting a massage...
Any ideas about what it could be? I ckecked the brake pads and they seem to have good meat on them and the car brakes really well.
Also, the noise is there even if I brake or not, seems to have nothing to do with brakeing.

Last time I had a stone jammed in a brake disc it was pretty noisy.
I reversed and put the brakes on - that apparently shifted it because it all went quiet from then on.
Not sure I would drive "40 miles" - that might result in a scored disc? _________________ 02 3.0 Trooper
