|
|
Hello all,
I’ve had a quick search for replacement side light bulbs and all that comes up are LED bayonet fitting bulbs. Are these bulbs ok to fit or would I need to up rate anything. I’d hate to cook my wiring/fuses etc.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

If it's these, 12v 5W capless wedge tungsten lamps, https://www.ringautomotive.com/en/product/R501 then they are still widely available as standard white (501), dipped amber (501A) (side repeater) or dipped ice blue finish (R801)
https://cpc.farnell.com/ring/rw801/side-tail-lamp-r801-12v-5w-ice/dp/CP03167?st=ring%2012z%205w
There's also a halogen version of this producing an ice blue colour (R516).
LED T10 wedges will also work fine, some are single LED chip and low cost chinese imports are usually 5 x 5050 suface mount chips mounted onto a plastic base, these will take somewhere around 1/3 of the current that a standed filament bulbs does, so should be fine providing they are decent quality.
Hope that helps. _________________ '00 3.5i V6 SWB Trooper (18 MPG )
