|
|
So I've got both engines and gearboxes out. I've been reading up on here about ancilliaries. Is it possible to get a 3.0 clutch plate with springs? Like to 3.1, so that I can weld up the DMF.
Also do I have to have all the extra gubbins on the 3.0 turbo exhaust as I'd like to use the turbo?
And lastly, for now, where is the oil pressure sender ?
Thanks for the help

So after reading up on here I've decided to weld up the DMF and use the 3.1 clutch plate. I'd like the bigger one from the original but it seems it won't make that much difference.
Haven't had another dig for the oil pressure sensor yet. |

Found the pressure sensor, funnily enough, right on top of the oil filter housing.
Tagged, filed and ready to go onto the 3.1.
My engine guy says I need another head for the 3.1. Cracks between the valves. Got to do the job properly though.
I wonder if I can dismantle the 3.1 clutch plate and put the friction surface from the 3.0 onto it ?
I'll measure up and see. |

So I've got the engine back and started putting all the bits and pieces back on it before it goes back in the 'new' car.
There are a couple of things I'm not sure about though.
There are 2 vacuum actuator thingies on the air inlet manifold - Do I need them as they're not connected to anything on the engine I'm using currently ?
Thanks for any advice.
