Hi,can anyone help me regarding the CEL ,it comes on mainly on lower revs, puts it in limp mode,I have the later revised head on the 3.0 DTI 2004 model, cleaned the sensor that's located at the rear right hand side top face of the inlet manifold with isopropyl spray, and taken to local garage but they say the ECU doesn't save the fault codes,is that true? And couldn't tell me the fault as the light didn't come on whilst they were checking it...so could anyone help me as it's driving me crazy...as it's the only fault it has... many thanks in advance 😄

It does sound a bit like the problem I had with the MAP sensor but Ive never had much luck cleaning them, they aren't mega expensive so I would change it to be sure

no revised head on the 3.0l they are the same on all of them they just changed the manifolds, your garage probably went in with snap on or some other diag equipment which doesn't work on the trooper they need to use a tech2. you could try bridging pins 4 and 6 in the diagnostic plug and put the ignition on then count the flashes from the check engine light, we can tell you then what the issue is
