i got a 99 trooper petrol now the ac compressor kick on the off i checked pressure low side is 17psi high side close to 200psi.I thought about having it all sucked out and retrying but funny thing when you try to add r134 the low side pressure doesn't change but the high side pressure goes up so i don't know what going on with it got my stumped.Did any of you have this trouble i though of taking out one of the shims if there is any in there. |

sounds like the expansion valve has gone wrong as when it injects both gauges should move |

no i think as long as the system is empty then you remove the glove box then unbolt the air housing and it slides out then strip the housing down |

ok replaced the expansion valve and drier.I got it recharged to factory 1.32LBS now my question is are the a/c compressors set up from factory timed to cycle off for a short time then kick back on and run is what i mean are these compressors a variable displacement. It seems to run better then it did before |

yes they don't run continuously if these did they would freeze up, theres a temp sensor in the evaporator which when it sees a low enough temp it stops the compressor until the evaporator warms up a bit then it kicks it in again |

does the ambient air temp sensor have anything to do with the a/c and heat because for some reason there is none in mine but there is a reddish brown connector but no sensor in front of the condenser. The wire connector is over by the drier |
