I'm interested in fitting a refurbished dual mass flywheel from Independent Isuzu @ £395. Anyone got any feedback on the quality of the unit? Also are all the flywheels dowelled which I assume makes it easy to fit without messing up the timing? Thanks.

no the flywheels are not dowled they can go on in any of 8 positions but only one is correct, put the engine on tdc and look for a half moon cut out on the gearbox side of the ring gear and set that to 6 o clock which should put the cut out in the timing ring at about the 1 o clock position.

personally i'm not a fan of the solid conversion as i believe that isuzu spent a lot of money in research and development and if a solid mass was ok they would have gone that.

Thanks for that information Eithan, very helpful. And I'll take your view on flywheels into account.
