I've have 7 bighorns now and 4 of them have had the "jumping out of overdrive" problem.
I've scrapped 2 of them because of this issue and I really don't want to scrap the other 2.
I've changed and flushed the oil, fitted a new radiator, disconnected the sensors on the thermostat housing and changed the speedo sensor.
After changing the oil oil the one I'm using, it seemed to get better but has now started jumping out again.
I'm not sure if it's the colder weather that is affecting it.
One of my bighorns has only done 65000 miles so shouldn't be worn out.
I've looked through some of the topics on here but can't seem to find the answer and then got lost in the hundreds of posts.
Has anyone ever solved this problem????
If I can't fix it then it'll mean another 2 classic Lotus Bighorns will die... Sad
Please help....

Most likely scrapped them by now but id put money on wiring harness has damages wires to the solenoids or the neutral start switch. Sits on the drivers side the gear box almost triangle shape is gunked up inside with *beep* in the grease and just needs stripping and cleaned.
