1997 trooper -   NO shiftonthefly.  Basic lever to go to 4wd H or L.  Auto freewheeling hubs

No 4wd just now

Have change hubs to manual hubs

Wheels are definitely being driven by the shaft

On pushing the lever to 4wd H, this is turning the shaft

But still no 4WD

Is there something that needs REMOVING (e.g. all the gubbins that made it use the freewheeling hubs) to make it really simple?

Or is there something we need to replace

Have read the sticky about the rodeo, but we are not sotf
