Hi.
I have had a small oil leak on my 2001 3.0 trooper from the rear of the cylinder head which drips onto the exhaust and smells when the engine works hard.
I got a replacement rocker cover gasket and removed the rocker cover and found the plug at the rear of the oil supply pipe which feeds oil to the cams to be loose. I have tightened this up but I can see two plastic seal sitting in the back of the head behind the cam. This appears to be wear I am getting the oil drip.
Can anybody tell me if I can change these seals without removing the cams. Access is limited at the back of the head and I don’t want to break them by tugging at them if they won’t come out.
