Dang, I thought it wasn't going to work. Well, I changed the site address of the above link and you can see pictures of it at the bottom of page 2 and more on the top of page 3. This should work now. |

Yes, I do need to take a trip to some local junkyards to buy them pretty soon. That is something you do tend to first notice though. Haha. |

Looks like an interesting project, are you going to turbo the engine? Propane injection might be fun for some extra go now and then too! Should be plenty of choice over there, get some heated ones and wire em up, I love mine. I do also love the big old bench seat in the chevy, it's like driving around sat on your grans old sofa. _________________ Phil

Phil, no I don't plan to turbocharge it as my intentions were to install the non-turbo engine for more reliability. The truck came factory with a C223-T, but they had issues with the connecting rods in the two years they were available in our Trooper models. Plus when I bought the Trooper it had no engine/transmission in the first place. I bought an 81 Isuzu PUP (KB pickup) which was diesel that had only 98,000 miles on it. Its powerplant is what is going into the 86 Trooper. And with 98k on the engine that really isn't even broken in yet. I also have an 82 Chevy LUV diesel (KB pickup) that has 233,000 miles on it and still runs like a top. The Trooper should be good to go for miles to come.
