HI GUYS AND GALS NEW TO THE FORUM AND ALL READY AFTER PICKING SOME OONES BRAINMATTER,RECENTLY BOUGHT A MONTEREY WITH A KNACKERED 3.1 TD DIDNT LIKE THE PRICE OF A RECON ONE SO I GOT ME HANDS ON A 2.8TD OUT OF A K REG TROOPER, 4JG2 TYPE ANY WAY THE SWAP WENT OK WELL ITS RUNNING IVE JUST BEEN LEFT WITH A FEW WIRES NEAR THE INJECTOR PUMP THAT I DONT KNOW WHERE THEY GO,THE REV COUNTER AINT WORKING NOR IS THE TEMP GAUGE I KEPT THE 2.8 COMPLETE WITH ALTERANTOR AND INJECTOR PUMP SEEMS TO RUN OK AND CHARGE OK ITS JUST THESE BLOODY WIRES,IVE GOT A CHILTONS MANUAL BUT ITS ABOUT AS MUCH USE AS BOOBS ON A BOAR PIG ANYWAY IF ANYONE HAS A CLUE WHAT IM ON ABOUT OR DONE ONE OF THESE CONVERSIONS THEN PLEASE PLEASE RESPOND

just changed the other way! What colour are the wires and what connectors are on the ends?

CHEERS FOR THE REPLY I WIL POST YOU THE COLOURS TOMMOROW AS ITS IN THE GARAGE DOWN THE ROAD AND I CANT REMEMBER,THERE IS A GREY 3 PIN PUSH IN PLUG WHICH WENT ON THE INJETOR PUMP ON THE 3.1 BUT THERE IS NO CONNECTOR ON THE 2.8 CHEERS MATE. Laughing

Gday, One way that some tachometers work on a diesel is they have a pick up sensor on the No 1 high pressure pipe from the injector Pump to the Injector. the sensor detects the Pulses from in the pipe and uses that as a signal.

CHEERS FOR THAT
HAD A LOOK AT THE ALT ALL SEEMS OK THE REV COUNTER WAS WORKING OK BEFORE THE CHANGE I HAVE A FEELING IT RUNS OF ONE OF THE MANY VACUUM PIPES IM LEFT OVER WITH
