WHEN COLD OIL PRESSER AT 30 WHEN HOT DROPS rapadly to 0 and the oil light comes on when at lights or stopping then if i put it in to nutral it reads just over the 0 mark but no oil light ???
there is plenty of oil in it bang on the mark Crying or Very sad
the engine has just bn rebuilt new every thing ie bearings seals block gaskets head bolts
aqny one got any idea for that i dont wont to lose her again for another 5 mounths only just got her back ????????????????????????????????????

Duff sender, loose wire to gauge or fubared oil pump.

I was thinking muck in the pressure release valve as the light and guage are on different sensors,
I think?

no i did not think it would cure the problem just a bit of extra protection m8 till hopefully you find the problem,Was this problem there before it was rebuilt spike.i would drop the sump and check the oil pick up filter if you dont find the problem.

He has taken it back to the garage today,
Does anybody know if the oil pump etc can be accessed without taking the engine back out. (3.2 v6 Auto)
I can phone him with the answer as he's at work.

the problem was not there when it went in for the engine to be recond
its a strange one even the garage cant work it out so they r trying to track down a oil pressure relise valve the one that bolts to the oil pump
oil strainer pick up pipe UMMMM u might be on to somthing there i remeber rebuilding a vw aircooled engine and having the same problem bloody hell i hope that she fit and healthy for JAE or ill be spuing

I have the same problem with the same car same engine, and I was wondering if you were able to fix the problem.
I tried to use thicker oil but that didn't work at all.

I had a problem with a triumph engine where the new oil pump had been machined wrongly and the shaft was too short to pick up the distributor drive in the top, so new parts are not immune from being faulty.
