I have just took delivery of a Citation 3.2 1992. I got it for a song cos the engine is noisy so i thought it was worth a gamble .What happens is when it is running under 2500 rpm the engine makes quite a loud knocking (cant tell where from) but runs sweet, over 2500 rpm the knocking/vibration goes completely. My first thought was hydraulic tappets as i had a similar thing with a Ford CVH engine way back when i knew no better! so i have flushed the engine and added some stuff supposed to free lifters.Still no better . Anyone any ideas. Also has anyone changes steering pump belt as i cant seem to find through bolt in order to slacken it.

Thanks

The problem turned out to be a faulty automatic tensioner for the timing belt.

glad to Spike . Let me know when.

Also i notice you have an LPG conversion ,I was thinking about it myself cos i run my current trooper (2.8 diesel mk1) on veggie oil so paying full price on fuel will kill me. Did you do it yourself and if so where did you get kit from and was it hard to fit.

Cheers

Mick

I got a lpg kit off eebuygum for £80 with an 90ltr tank fitted to a MK1 2.6 LWB
Came off an Astra car

pi55 easy to fit if getting from eebuygum make sure you can get the fitting instructions as they can be difficult to wire up.

If the engine electrically is sound and the exhaust is in good wear then when changed to gas you should only notice the change from petrol start to gas change over and don't for get if you need petrol for then really big hills then press the change over button.

it costs the same to run as a Clio 1.2 fuel wise so that ain't bad, BTW you will need to get it certified for insurance there is a place up north near thirsk do it the cheapest
