If its not overheating but the system is building up pressure (not wanting to scare you ) but it could be the head gasket, a cracked head or block, you need to get it pressure tested most garages will have the facilities to do this.
I’m sure some one else will have had the same symptoms and be able to help you further

your expansion tank should only be about one third full when the engine is cold,if you are not overheating, make sure the engine heat isnt spiking....ie going high for about thirty seconds and then dropping back to normal, also make sure your water isnt full of tiny bubbles and keep a close eye on your oil level over the weeks.
if you have a combination of the above, regardless of whether you have water in the oil, there is a high chance of a head gasket failure.
speaking from bitter experience, spiking temperature, blowing out water into expansion tank and higher oil consumption point to h/g trouble. then again you may have just overfilled you expansion tank! i hope its the latter.

Sounds like you are filling the rad to the top to me, try just leaving it and watch the temp, if it goes up then down flick the heater on, if the heater is cold "stop" and check the water (when its cooled a bit).

For piece of mind you could do a water jacket pressure test  Smile
