thanks to philip and brian i now have changed my rear brake pads on my mk 1 trooper.
the only thing is. now i dont seem to have any handbrake is there any way to ajust it,  except from the cable.

Yes, theres a small allen key hidden behind a cover or bolt, also press the footbrake and repeatedly pull the handbrake on and off.
