Hi Guys or girls! hope you can throw a bit of light on this little problem I have.
Just purchased a 1992 3.1 diesel bighorn with aprox 118000 Km on the clock.

The problem goes something like this. You select drive and all is well, you start to accelerate it changes up into second and then that’s it. It refuses to change any higher.

Other things probably worthy of note are…….When you throttle off it just seams to free wheel (no engine braking) is this normal? When you manually select 1st or 2nd then it has the engine braking you would expect.

When you turn on the overdrive (little switch on the gear lever the drive is lost altogether)

The ATF fluid is new and the pick up in the sump has been cleaned.
I’m thinking maybe an electrical problem??? Can anyone explain what all the sensors are for on the box??
