Wonder if anyone anyone can help me - the offside front tyre on my 93 Lotus Bighorn is showing wear on both outer edges - which is not reflected in the other side - the tracking appears fine and the pressures are ok.
Wondered whether it might be a worn frop link from the anti-roll bar?
I know you can get these from Milners - but as I am a mechanical ignoramous how easy are they to fit - and how easy is it to change the anti-rollbar mount bushes (the ones that go on to the chassis).
Help!!! |

Could be as simple as the tyre being under inflated |

Have checked the pressures - defo not them as I check them weekly
Could it be the drop arm off the anit-roll bar - there seems to be a bit more play in this one as opposed to the near side... |

I would say no, as all that does is top to much roll when cornering.
I would check the height and camber of each wheel before you spend any money.
But thats just me, other people may have other ideas _________________ |

worn outer edges is a classic sign of low pressures, one rear tyre on my wifes Freelander is just being replaced because of this and you can actually see that the centre tread section is deeper than the outer edges. I can't think of any other one thing that would wear both adges, maybe a combination of tracking and camber out might or tyres that may have been rotated around the vehicle wearing differently on different sides. _________________ Phil

Just a quick update - it was the tracking... - so I had that done and changed the anti-roll bar bushes and drop links, and fitted new shocks - job sorted!!! |
