Peeps
Just had a pre Mo9t done today and only two things stopped the beast
1 Too much movement on the steering column. Tester thinks this is due to a nacked to bearing just behind the steering wheel somewhere. Does this sound right and how do I get the steering wheel off its a citation so its got an airbag.

2 Brake pedal a tiny bit spongey but goes hard with one pump. Im guessing that the brake fluid hasnt been bled since the factory back in 97. So my first call is change the fluid andmake sure the air has all gone.  It has ABS so im guessing that its not just a case of pump the pedal and lock off the bleed niple. Any hints, Do's or donts. Im thinking power bleeder with ABS fuse out......

3 Not a fail but both my nearside beaings are a tad slack. The tester tels me they are adjustable. Are they? any guidance from the Guru's would be gratefully accepted

Jim

The way you want to bleed the brakes sounds about right, but the book says fuse out and engine running if you are using the pedal to bleed them.

And yup, the bearings are adjustable, click the link for a pic
