 on my frontera the alternator has 3 wires , a red heavy duty charge wire an earth and another wire .i'm getting ready to fit the 2,8 td engine from my trooper into it , my trooper alternator has a heavy duty charge lead and a multiplug with 3 wires in it ! any suggestions as to the differnce and what im best doing ? |

bump ! right the multi plug with 3 wires again , i'm confused ! ive been reading another post saying about the rev counter feed comes from the injection pump ? can anyone give me a kevproof list of the 3 multiplug wires please ie which wire does what ?

| just a thought but have you looked in to fitting the frontera alturnator will it fit? |

Kev, page 2665 of the manual has the wiring diagram for your alternator. I think it is a completely different system from the Fronty though.
I can try and trace the 3 wires on my diagram if you can confirm they are:
0.85mm Black & Yellow
0.85mm White & Green
3mm White & Black

cheers ! i rang milners yesterday and they gave me a phone number for cpe who said this - ! the 3 wire multi plug is this - thicker white wire is the 12v charge for the aux tow socket ! white red- no charge ign warning and the other(brown /yellow) is the ign light ! so ouch they're different !i could make the fronty one fit brian , but i'd prefer to use the trooper one !

Got me thinking now...I put a 2.8 alternator on the Fronty. Have to look tomorrow and see what i did to the wiring
