Yeah, but there was no way of knowing that you should skip all the other steps and recore the rad was there?

They do seem pretty robust, I assume it is similar to the Toyota 2.8 diesel of similar age...

no idea m8 ,as for a paper copys i just printed the 2.8 manual off and keep it in a folder.and if there are any usfull theads i print them off also.

The beast lives !!!!

Thanks for your help chaps. I replaced the thermostat and it now runs without overheating but also warms up faster and runs at a higher temp...woohoo!!!

Now just need to sort out the noise from the prop shaft, spongy brakes, dodgy electrics, mould, rear seats and steering - then maybe a snorkel Wink
