I don't think it has power to it Chris but just turns the diff and prop. it's to do with the shift on the fly. the older ones and my mk1 are rear only, as theres no shift on the fly.
I may be wrong! but I've played enough times in 2wd in the mud(cos it's fun) and only the rear has ever spin (97 mk3) _________________

I would of thought there would be dangerous handling implications by driving one front wheel and not the other. |

with shift on the fly only the rear wheels are driven in two wheel drive
the front offside wheel turns the diff and the front prop
it is not driven from the transfer box because the transfer box is not engaged |

The man's a genius! I knew there was something about one wheel/shaft turning. _________________ Isuzu Rodeo Denver Max LE | 265/65R18 BF Goodrich AT LTM No.60

hi guys as a quick question for you all on 4wd if you are not moving and engage 4wd but dont drive/move the trooper at all , will you still have to reverse to disengage the 4wd?? as the hubs wont have locked will they? just a stupid question really but i dont want to driving around in 4wd just because i have moved the gear stick. _________________ oooooooer whats that noise? |

You have to move forward of back wards to engage the hubs.
I think It's about 1 meter or one revolution of the wheel. |
