|

As im doing a fair bit of work to my chassis and replacing some of the outriggers/ body-chassis mounts im thinking whilst im at it about making and fitting a 2" body lift kit.
So a few questions for those in the know that i wouldnt mind answered....
1)Is there any other mods needed like extending the filler cap tube or needing longer brake lines?
2)How many body mounts are there? (is is just the 4 down each side or are there other hidden?)
3)What do they drive like after the lift? After lifting your centre of gravity by 2" do they affect your driving manor in a big way or is it simply a case of just being that little bit extra cautious?
Thanks. _________________

Never done it so can't help there, not sure if anyone has lifted the body on here.
Mr Twister might be the one to ask. |

not sure how much help this will be, but, a few of the frontera owners ha a fiddle around with body lifts and as far as i remember they only extended the steering column to the box, as for the fuel filler neck it didnt make to much difference. they did however need to cut trim around gear and transfer selector as these were now lower and catching on trim. as i remember they used roller skate wheels as spacers? a bit unusual eh?
thats about all i can think of!
cheers

I would go for a full lift rather than just the body, its a whole lot easier and it serves a function by giving more height to the chassis, a body lift is errrr a lot of work for nothing really (just my opinion) _________________ |

Thats sort of true,
a body lift will allow the use of slightly taller tyres, but if you want to run anything as big as 33's (like me) you will be better off starting with a suspension lift!
Cheers

Found this article...
Like markl666 says it seems a lot of work.
Also got to make new bumper brackets and bull bar brackets 2 etc.
May leave it for a while looking at it.It was so much easier a job on the range rover..... _________________
