my 98 3.1 diesel big horn starts fine when cold but cranks over for ever when hot can anyone help me please

Well, the old favourite on these having erratic starting problems is air in the fuel supply. A particular weak spot is the fuel line entry to the tank itself. Most of them start allright and then have problems starting or stalling.
There may be several other reasons but there isn't a long history of problems with the 3.1 as they are a fairly simple motor mechnically.

But, seeing as how it's a 98 and electronic fuel injection, then there maybe other issues. I'm strictly a mechanical man. _________________ 1999 Cougar with a NICE motor..
