Does anyone know if Austrialian CB's (40 channel) are tuned to the same frequecy as UK?
I've a couple of 5 watt handheld radios which I picked up over there a few years ago, they've fantastic range, but I've never tried picking anything up (other than radio repeaters) in the UK.
Thanks... _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

I know a few years ago when CB was in its prime, they used 27 Mhz (mid band).
Chances are if you can hear repeater stations it may be as Mark suggested on the UHF or VHF side.
If you can hear COPS - RUN

I suppose that I could always sit on a motor way bridge and scan through
hummmm I wonder what the law is at the moment with handheld cb's rather than mobi phones!! would be interesting discussing that one in court!!!
Now, if I can only figure out how to get the volume to stay up on one of the handsets................ _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

it was in the auto express a couple of weeks ago that cb radios dont come under the same law as mobile phones and that you cant get done using 1
i wudnt like to find out tho, mind you if they did ban 2way radios how would the police come off using them,

Only certain bands are free to use by the public (i cant be bothered looking all of them up)
But UK40 FM 27/84 and midband 27mhz FM
Ohh and the recent pmr ones, but signal stength is still limited for all of them _________________ |

I got done about 15 years ago for using a CB whilst driving. Due care & attention. They can apply that if they spot you changing a CD/radio channel/scratching yer ar53....... _________________ 94 Big Horn 3.1 Lotus Auto
