I am new to Trooper ownership and would like to know when each mark changed and what the differences are from model to model. Does anyone know? Spark.

OK. Yours is a MKIV the latest (and last) Trooper....

It started with a MKI with a 2.8 td and petrol variants in around er, 1986 ish?

Went to a MKII in 1992 - completely different body shape (much bigger) and 2 new engines: the 3.1 td and the 3.2 V6 petrol. 2.8 was discontinued (shame - good motor) but has reappeared in a different form in some trucks..

in 1995/6 came the MKIII which had more electronics, fly by wire and body styling changes but really was makeover as engines and stuff was the same.

1998 came the MKIV and the first of the 3.0 engines and the venerable 3.1 was discontinued in UK Troopers at least but still appears in some trucks.

That's the simple short version. There is a very strong "grey" import presence here in the UK as well with same bodies but different names and accessory packages, but I'll save that for tomorrow, or someone else can have a go, my fingers hurt... Smile
