Hi all, wondered if anybody could help me, i've just bought a 1995 trooper lwb 3.1td as i've always fancied one and i didn't hear much bad about them. Its a top motor and i love it. However i've got a strange problem, it runs fine for about 20-30 mins sitting at 1/4 on the temp gauge then it starts going up and down between 1/4 and 3/4 sometimes higher quite rapidly! This especially happens when sitting on a motorway at 70-75mph. At first i thought it was a faulty temp gauge but recently on a 150mile trip it boiled up about 20-30 miles from my destination. I can't find any leaks and apparently the head gasket was changed 3 months ago. This is my first trooper so i don't know much about them and i'm getting a bit worried. Any help/advice/pointing out how stupid i'm being would be greatly appreciated. |

its possible that its the headgasket or it could be that the rad is partiallyblocked or even the thermostat`s dodgy

Cheers everyone, ordered a rad today just in case, they didn't say anything in partco about there being a thick and a thin one so hopefully its ok. I'm gonna attempt to fit it this weekend. |
