1997 Trooper ran hot, had rad renewed, replaced stat, still ran hot, when stopped with engine running-almost constant bubbles from rad overflow hose that goes into recovery tank. Even when engine stopped when still hot. I would think blown head gasket. Anyone agree/disagree? Thanks Gerald(nubie) |

I'm afraid i have to agree, It's a classic gasket symptom.... Someone else will comment tomorrow you can bet,, Lets hope they can think of another reason that could be the cause... By the way welcome to ITOCUK _________________

If you gently rev the engine - does the bubbling get worse? If so more than likley a head or gasket. If you know someone with a pressure testing kit for the cylineders it would be very quick to test. _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :
