Hi, was talking to my hubby this morning and it occured to us that we could inadvertantly put wrong fuel in our cars depending on who is driving whose car

Mine is the diesal trooper
His is a petrol corsa

What would happen or what would be the worst way i.e putting petrol in diesal or diesal in the petrol.

What sort of repair, expense would we be looking at, if either of us was to do something like that.

As i said it is curiosity only.

The worst would be petrol in the troop it would not appreciate it one bit. And probably want an engine, unless of course you realise and don't start it the other way round is still bad but i got a feeling the diesel pump will not fit in most newish petrols anyway..

Worst case ... Petrol in Diesel = big bang, diesel in petrol = uneventful chug to a halt.

But it depends how much petrol if it ever happend, my book says up to 20% petrol in the diesel for temps under -15c

Diesel would kill the corsa dead  Shocked
