After a couple of weeks scouring the Net, finally ended up with Churchill.

Like a lot of online insurers, their quotation system insists that there's no such thing as an automatic diesel Bighorn... -- but a quick call to them soon sorted that out!

Their telephone customer service, on confirming the online quote, was excellent (very friendly and helpful, and with a lovely lilting Irish brogue...!); and they even gave me the 10% online discount, even though I ended up buying the policy on the phone.

Although the excesses are a little steep (probably because "it's an import"), I think the final amount of just under £350 -- fully comp, me and the missis, protected 5 years NCD, etc. -- is pretty good. [Nearest other quotes were Tesco, Direct Line, Privilege and Adrian Flux... -- my existing insurer (What Car? done through the always excellent Liverpool Victoria...) wouldn't insure an import.... ]

And the real plus? I believe I can now get a nodding dog from Churchill... with a discount for being a policyholder! Shame I've got no parcel shelf!?!
