Anyone recommend a decent campsite in the Peterborough area.
Two families in tents, with kids and dogs.
Would prefer facilities rather than tranquil beauty, because of the kids/tents.
Thanks

Always enjoyed Ferry Meadows when i was younger. Good for bike rides away from traffic, lake with sailing and canoeing and also fishing i think.

Bummer - seems ideal - but is a caravan club site and neither families are members.

Hi just spent the weekend at yarwell mill near to where the A1/A47 cross.
Nice site but just showers/toilets,village pub ,and the river nean borders the site,
ten minute walk over the river to catch steam train, wich runs to peterborough via ferry meadows country park, with a rover ticket you can get on and off the train when you want, nice day out.
There's also a lake and mill pond if the kids have fishing rods or boat _________________ Mickyboy

Grew up round there, yarwell is a nice place. Have a look on the internet for Wansford, Kingscliffe, Oundle, I can't recall specific campsites, but all near p'boro, and nice places to visit. Oh Stamford is also just up the road, and I can't remember the name of the place, but the national ?? 4x4 championships are round that way? _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

Alot of CC sites will allow non members (and if they take tents they guess they will) Give em a call
Great place - one of my favourites
In fact we are going for the new year with some friends which will be an experience as we should have an 8 week old baby by then! _________________ 3.0TD LWB Citation |
