Wont start, Please Help!!

I wonder if anyone can help. I have a 1997 Isuzu Trooper 3.2 V6 petrol automatic. It is a UK supplied car. The engine has cut out and will not start. There is no power getting to the ignition coil or the fuel injectors. There is power to the ECU and 5volts out of it to the sensors. Isuzu said it needs to go on their tech2 computer to diagnose so i took it to them. They have said they cant read the ECU for some reason and the only way they can do it is to put a new ECU on the car which will cost me £1500 + vat. Does anyone know what may be wrong with the car or maybe know where i can get a second hand ECU if that would work. Any suggestions at all would be greatly appreciated.
