Hi All,
It would seem Towing Electrics are a popular topic on the forum... here is a simple diagram etc - if any members have factual, detailed information or tips please add it to the thread.

|
|
Hi all,
I'm looking at wiring a socket into the back of my pickup for my coolbox.
I need to add power from a switched source as I don't want to kill my battery (other thread digested accordingly).
Can anyone tell me what and where the 10amp trailer fuse leads to - it activates on ignition, but as I don't have a supplemental connector on the tow bar I think it might be a worthy choice for fridge power if I can find out where in the harness it re-appears
Thanks in advance for any input

The pink wire in the loom NS rear kinda left of the spare wheel tucked right up in the chassis (square, 13 ish connectors), only half the plug is used to the existing socket for standard lighting, but everything else is there on the other half of the socket.
The colours don't seem at all relevant to the above images though but it was the only one I could find showing 12v with the ignition on and nada with it off.
Hope this helps someone else |
