Hi,

I picked up my '93 3.1 diesel trooper bighorn in August 03 and enjoy every minute of it. I just found the ITOC site a few days ago and have been reading all the chat. Lots of questions I have been asking have already been answered.

However, something is bugging me.....see if anyone can help. My trooper has a number of badges on it which appear to be original. They state "Handling by Lotus". One is on the steering wheel, another on the spare wheel cover and enamel badges both front doors.

Any Ideas?

Hi Gordie

Welcome along....................

The Lotus badges denote your vehicle has the Lotus handling pack, this is a factory option as i understand 'tuned' for greater 'on-road' characteristics.

My Bighorn on the other hand is an Irmscher model and 'tuned' for greater off-road handleing.

All models you will find have a slighly different spec. including tyre sizes, interior gadgets, seats ect.

Hope that clears it up

Justin

Hi Gordie, I was at Lotus when the Trooper chassis/suspension was being developed further, and the lads in the ride and handling department said they were surprised at how good the ride was even before they worked on it. My '92 Bighorn handles better than most cars I've had which either says a lot for the BH or not much for my cars! If only the fuel consumption was better it'd be unbeatable!
