Dear Sirs, I wonder if you can help me. I have a 2000 3.0 Trooper which believe it or not has been playing up. About a month ago when going along the road it died but cleared itself. when I got home and started it again it was on 3 legs and white smoke after changing the fuel filter it was OK bot did notice the fuel tank was leaking thinking it might be drawing air. After all this it ran OK but it did stall a few times over a week or so but always started first time until a few days back. So I put the fuel line directly into a Jerry can to eliminate the fuel tank but still the same. When trying to start it it does offer but wont catch. When I tried to Start it yesterday it fired and ran as it did this morning only if I kept the revs up but alas it wont start again please help.
Kind Regards, Derek |

Hi Derek,
Are you running it on 5w30 grade oil? If not then do an oil change straight away as this is essential. Next to check (ideally while you are doing the oil change) is the oil pickup pipes in the sump are in tip top condition with no blocked strainers etc.
If the two above are fine then I would look to have the oil pressure sensor changed on the oil rail (fixed to the injectors)... once this has been checked/changed (it needs a dealers tech2 machine) then possibly have the dealer check the output from the high pressure oil pump.
Hope this helps! _________________ Isuzu Rodeo Denver Max LE | 265/65R18 BF Goodrich AT LTM No.60

Tim's was the pressure sensor on the oil rail. The plug for the tech2 is in the drivers footwell tucked just out of sight behind the centre console. _________________ Isuzu Rodeo Denver Max LE | 265/65R18 BF Goodrich AT LTM No.60

Sorry to be a pain Chris, But do you recommend a supplier for the sensor as my local suppler is a rip off also do you have the part number.
Many thanks yet again, Dek Findlay.. |

Its not a cheap part... I paid £250 fitted last time from Gibsons of Brock (ex-Isuzu dealer in Lancashire). The sensor can be fitted easily but then needs coding into the system on a tech2 machine (dealer computer) to operate fully. _________________ Isuzu Rodeo Denver Max LE | 265/65R18 BF Goodrich AT LTM No.60

Ouch - I've been quoted £100 + fitting from my local garage (as yes mine has gone again!) - but as I didn't pay for it the first time not too much of an issue _________________ 3.0TD LWB Citation |

Hi Guys, Well it was the switch just as you said. I dropped the sump both pick up pipes were ok but wasnt too happy with the "o" rings so changed them and oil and filters. Got a new swich fitted it last night and running again.
Many Thanks.
Kind Regards, Derek findlay. |
