I have a '93 Big Horn Irmscher with an Alpine 6-CD changer.  Problem is that all CD's cut out and then back in consistently every 30 seconds or so for approx half a second.  Quite annoying as you can imagine.

Anybody else experienced this and anyone know a fix (i'm guessing its a power loss or interuption thing????)

Thanks in advance.

Nat

Is it a cd/radio if it is the radio will lose all presets if it's a power thing, I've just had a similar thing with a 12 disc jvc but it cut a couple of times and stayed off, someone told me the laser was shot, I was lucky and a good friend had a jvc cd changer in his shed that was newer than mine and cost me 0000,

Yep its a CD/radio.  All the presents are apparantly coded for Jap radio which makes receiving English(?) signals pretty much out of the question (so i'm told).

Does the problem lie with the changer you think?

I think so, But don't spend money just on my say so, See if you can get it checked. You could try running a high quality cd lens cleaner through it (not the pound shop special Wink ) It's gotta be worth a few quid to find out.
