Did it do a back up of what it took off, depending on what you have used, sometimes it can take the useful stuff off too, don't ask me how I know, though I was able to but mine back.

Can you connect her PC to the router with an ethernet cable (wire). If so then do that and bypass the wireless, this will allow you to run spyware software removal. Also from Microsoft instal Defender and run check for updates and then run a FULL scan. That should run and find any problems the PC has.

If you have spy/ad ware you should need no more than

Ccleaner a fantastic FREE tool for cleaning your pc up Click HERE for Ccleaner

Adaware Free version click HERE for adaware

And finally Spybot search and destroy FREE Click HERE for spybot

All 3 programs can be trusted and all 3 are free, Also all 3 got gold awards in web-user magazine. I use these and have never had a problem, If anyone needs help with them pm me and i will try my best, I am by no means a computer wizard but i find these do the job required with ease..

Especially the ones that just pop up & tell you your PC is full of spyware etc - always better to right click & select close on those, in case they have the white cross/red box linked as a download button.
