Can anyone recommend a rig.
I used to be on CB about 15 years ago so I dug out my old Major 588 last night but it looks very dated compared to the new slim stuff available these days so I think it's time for something new but being out of the scene for so long I feel like a real newbie, which is even more strange for me as I used to be the local Rig Dr round here and knew them all inside out.
I recall back then Midland wasn't a great make but none of the rigs I was familiar with are around anymore. My last rig was a Superstar 2000. _________________ Trooper Citation MK4 3.0TD LWB (DOHC) Black.

Midland rigs are very popular now, had mine a few years!
It even survived a drowning a couple of years ago!
Cheers

The Maycom em27 is a very nice rig and it looks good all lit up at night. You should get a 2nd hand one on eebuygum for around the £40 mark but there were some badged as realistic/radio shack (tandy brand) that tend to go a bit cheaper - only due to the fact that everyone does a search for "maycom".
Personally I went for one of the old Binatone "Breaker" CBs. The ones that look like a 1980s car phone. The box of tricks is concealed under my centre console (in front of the gear stick) and the holder for the phone part fits nicely on top to the left of the gear stick. Looks really nice (the wife doesn't agree mind you...).
As regards the aerial I have it on a magmount slap bang in the middle of the roof with the cable fed in through one of the back doors.

Too much, it's the most I've ever spent on a rig with only 80 channels put it that way _________________ Trooper Citation MK4 3.0TD LWB (DOHC) Black.
