Jon, I think the short answer is no. The following is all the cross refs to the short fat filter that most 3.1s seem to run. Mine runs the long skinny one at twice the price
This list is from the Ryco filters NZ website. It runs a 26 x 1.5mm thread.

I should have said that these last lot run a 3/4 x 16 UNF thread so will definitely not fit.

Cheers Steve & Grandad.
My 3.1 & 2.8 Fronty both use the long thin (expensive) ones as well. I get ADL Blueprints for £4.00 + VAT but have been offered some genuines for £3.00 so I thought i'd spoil myself with the real things
Never mind then, I got 10 x 2.8 short ones for my Trooper engined SWB Frontera though so not a complete loss!
What is the Isuzu number for the long thin ones for future ref? _________________ 1994 KZJ70 Cruiser (currently filling the garage and causing some head scratching)

The Isuzu No. for the long thin ones for the 3.1 are 8971166670. These have a double stage filter setup inside (part full flow & part bypass) hence the extra cost, there is also an externally similar filter for the 3.0 4JX1 motor which only has a single stage filter, ie full flow only, which will fit this application, I think it was Cowman mentioned these a while back. On asking the question of the local guys they said it would be OK but they would recommend changing the oil more often. It seems that most guys on this forum change their oil more often than the factory specs anyway so this shouldn't be too big a deal. The Isuzu No. for this one is 8971679720
