I have a 2003 3 litre which I bought as a non starter. Got diesel up, changed glow plugs as all burnt out. Put 2 new batteries on it. Spins over after about 15 seconds of cranking it starts to fire but won't pick up and run. Good compression and everything else looks ok but puts the check engine light out when being cranked over and I get a clicking of a relay by my right foot when cranking. Any ideas please?

As for the highest miles on a running trooper my lovely girlfriend has a 98 S reg 3.0 TD with 200000+ miles on the clock. Original engine with, we think, the factory recalls done. Used every day. Only non working item is drivers door lock switch.

you need a tech2 plugged on to it to see what is happening with the sensors
