are lanes public rights of way Question i mean the green lanes that are open to 4x4`s, i understood that they are open to all Exclamation but it seems some people think they own them Question they hold on to the locations and will not share with anyone, what is their problem Question ranting on about all these bodies that fight to keep the lanes open, for what Question their own private play groung.
if the lanes are open to 4x4`s then they are open, so how can anybody tell you to keep off them Question
unless a lane is closed or restricted how can another 4x4 driver tell you to stay off them Question

Green lanes are part of the public highway - if somebody obstructs you, they are breaking the law ...

Of course, as you say, green Lanes tend to be subject to restrictions at times which, in my view, is not entirely unreasonable - after all, it's important to keep the lanes useable for ALL users.

Why are people defensive and secretive about 'their' lanes ... because they don't want them to become over-used and, subsequently subject to restriction orders.

Bottom line - don't get involved in public disputes - you can record and report issues to the local rights of way officer.
