Can anyone please tell me where the fuel filter is on my 1996 3.1 Bighorn please. And is it easy to change.
Thanks. _________________ 1996 Bighorn 3.1td LWB. Lotus Edition. |

Unless they move em around it should be on the right as you face the engine, to the left of the air filter, it's pretty big, so its not hard to find, following the fuel pipes might help. _________________ Every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff from out of my brain.

Ah yes, found it....!
Is it same as the filter to change, as in just unscrew and replace with new one? _________________ 1996 Bighorn 3.1td LWB. Lotus Edition. |

More or less, the water trap on the bottom has to swapped to the new filter and the old filter will be full of diesel. Some people have problems pumping it up again but I never have. Saves a bit of time if you can fill it before you screw it back up. _________________ Every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff from out of my brain.

Needed to know myself and found this from Grandad (thanks!)
Grandad wrote: |
undo and remove the two hoses going to the filter
unbolt the bracket
lift filter and filterhousing clear removing the wires to the water sensor
separate filter and housing remove water sensor from the filter
clean sensor
fit to the new filter with new O ring
fill filter with fresh diesel
screw filter to the housing take care not to spill the diesel
reconnect the wires and bolt filter back in place
push hoses back on refit clips
press pump on top of housing up and down untill it goes hard and then start engine
you should not have to bleed it |
