Hi Guys,
I need to get a 2-way radio system setup in Zambia.
1) something in the 4x4s
2) a "base station" setup at the office
3) a couple of handhelds
Needs to have around 10 miles range (reliable)
PMR466 running at a decent power output (we don't have the 1/2 watt UK restriction, but I'd have to buy kit in the UK and then uprate as you can't get anything out there) seems to fit the bill, but then again all this talk of CB has got me thinking... can you get decent (and not excessively bulky) handheld CB units ?
Or if PMR466 is likely to be the best, andy reccs on kit please ?
Also needs to be simple(ish) as I know s0d all about this technology...
Many thanks in advance,
JB |

CB in my mind would be the best bet as it I believe could give you the most flexibility
