OK guys this is a complicated thing and depends on the type of fuel pump (lucas bad bosch good), whether you have computerised fuel/engine management ie something that calls itself CDI. Basically the older Troopers will probably be OK but I would be very wary of something newish with vegoil because you do get ring gumming and other nasty side effects which can seriously impede your engines health. I use 20% vegoil in my 92 Bighorn. You have to see the risks in the context of the cost if you run a lot of vegoil on a Peugeot 306 diesel a new engine is 160 quid whilst on a Trooper its a..........lot! Try this website http://www.vegetableoildiesel.co.uk/ or the fuel database at http://www.vegetableoildiesel.co.uk/fuelsdatabase/database/index.php

decided against putting veg oil in for the time being, would only save bout £2 a week at the moment so that would take a long time to recoup the cost of a new engine Laughing ,
had a quick look round where i live but cant find any1 selling bio so looks like il stick with shell diesel for the time, (averaged 31mpg last week)

Well, here's 1 for you guys!!! Before I moved to Cornwall(only been here a year) I was living on the outskirts of York, used to get bio diesel from a company (can't remember the name, sorry!!!) sat on the A64. Thay knocked it out for around 70p per L, found a garage down here who sold it..........£1.40 per L!!!!!!!! Could not belive it!!!!! Now we all know us yorkshire like to save pennys(best saying been "how much??" "for cash??")did think this was a little steep!!!! Thought it was meant to be cheaper than normal fuel............... hmmm!!!! I work closely with a pub who goes through a lot of veg oil, does anyone know what the process to take waste oil and change it into bio diesel? Feel a cottage industry coming on here!!!!!!!

Have a look on the internet - but planetfules.co.uk used to do it - based in brighton.  The problem with used chip fat is getting the water out of it before converting back across to bio diesel. If you've access to the 1 tonne containers (used on farms) can be a very cost effective way of making fuel (charge for taking away the fat, that will pay for teh chemicals for converting to diesel) ergo free fuel
