I HAVE A BIGHORN 3.1 TD,KEEPS DRAINING BATTERY EVEN AFTER I CHANGED BATTREY AND NEW ALTERNATOR,ITS A 3.1TD MREG 1995 7 SEATER,ITS ONLY GOT ONE BATTERY I WAS TOLD THEY HAVE 2 THINK ITS BEEN BYPASSED, CAN U HELP THANKS |

The second battery was only fitted to some models, and was on the opposite side of the engine bay at the back.
Check the interior light isn't switched on, front and rear, its one of the few items that isn't on the ignition switch
Otherwise you must have a constant load on the battery somewhere. If you have an ammeter connect it in series with the battery, red lead, and pull the fuses one by one, when the current drain/meter reading drops you have located the route to the source of your problem. If you have a voltmeter put it across the battery and you will see the voltage level increase as you remove the drain, pulling the fuse, but this is a very small movement so you may miss it. _________________ LotusTower - '93 Lotus Bighorn |
