before you shell out on a valve you can just clamp the pipe off to see if it will make any difference

Milners off road sell a kit - it's about £30 or so iirc - They advertise in the top left of this site Wink

you can get non return valves from John Deere dealers which do the trick, they cost £6 which will save a bit.

Here's a question for anyone who can help about starting my 3.0 trooper. It developed a starting problem when cold and I traced it down to starting the engine with the clutch in. If you start it without touching the clutch it starts fine, as soon as you put the clutch down it conks out. If you just touch the clutch it starts to cut out like the fuel supply has been strangled. It will do this untill it is warmed up - ten minutes or so, after that there is no problems, any idea's???

Someone had a problem like this a little time ago on here - Ethan will be able to advise I think, but the crank sensor for end float possibly?

you called!!!

it's one of 2 things, the flywheel is being pulled away from the crank sensor which causes it to lose it's signal so the engine dies or starts to. it could just be a weak crank sensor and as this is the cheapest option i would try a new one. if it still does it then it's down to the end float in the crankshaft which is caused by worn thrust bearings and as this requires the engine to be stripped down it's a lot more expensive.

Thanks Eithan h and dx media I'll try the crank sensor first of all and pray its not the end float!!
