Hi, brand new so please be kind!!!

I have a very queer problem, my Trooper seems to start perfectly for days/weeks on end then 'out of the blue' I will turn the key and hear nothing but a click - nothing else, no starter motor turning or anything. Try as I may there is absolutely nothing! Go back five minutes later, turn the key and it fires up straight away. Very annoying and as my work base is 60 miles from home , then I travel within my working day, I cannot rely on it.

I read some other posts and threads but as I say I'm brand new to all this - I'm a computer geek not a mechanic! Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Sorry, should have mentioned, it's an 'N' reg Trooper Citation 3.1 Diesel.

From what I've been told by the guy I bought it off, yes - but it's part of the alarm (???) and he had it disconnected. Does that help?

Thanks, The Coop.

Just to let anyone else know who may be having a similar problem - I getting a mechanic/auto electrician to come and look at my Trooper on Thursday (14/02/2008). I'll post his diagnosis in the hope that it helps.

I'd same the same as Matski sounds as if the bushes are worn on the starter and are sticking.
