|
|
The wife has a 2000, 2.2dti Frontera at the moment, and this morning it refused to start, point blank. It has previously been fine, no problems whatsoever, it turns over fine, no strange noises or smoke, but refuses to fire. One thing I did notice is that it carried on turning over when I had turned the ignition off! I don't know a lot about it, are there any common faults? Any pointers would be appreciated, Cheers. _________________ Every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff from out of my brain.

Carries on spinning over? as in the starter is spinning or the momentum of the engine is causing the engine to carry on spinning?
If you crack an injector is diesel coming out of the inlet pipe?
Is there any smoke coming out of the exhaust?
Is the ECU firmly plugged in (sorry no idea where it is on the 2.2)
What happens if you spray a little easy start through?
The diesel hasn't self bled back into teh tank has it? _________________ For great insurance deals on 4x4s, imports and more, contact Adrian Flux :

If it's of any interest to anybody, it was the bleed off pipes from the injectors that had seen better days. _________________ Every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff from out of my brain.

Too right, it's already had a pump and that was about £1500, Vauxhall wanted £2500! _________________ Every time I learn something new, it pushes some old stuff from out of my brain.
